Wintry Mix

It's precipitating outside. "Wintry mix" they call it. I call it a mixed blessing. Which is to say it's got some blessing and some cursing in it. I don't know why they call it a "mixed blessing" and not a "mixed cursing"... maybe they're two different things. A mixed blessing has mostly blessing, and a mixed cursing has mostly cursing. Something to think about.

The good news: we're having our Advent celebration tonight and some nice "wintry mix" will add to the holiday cheer.

The bad news: it's Sunday, meaning every seminarian on this campus, except two (who will be walking) will be leaving campus to go drive to church this morning. Now, it's early in the season, so I doubt it's going to be bad enough out there for people to consider staying home, but we work Sundays, so it's not like anything but the worst of conditions would make us even consider staying home.

When I have a church of my own, I don't care where it is, where they send me, but if it's in a climate that observes winter, I hope I have a parsonage within walking distance of the church.

PS: Happy Gaudete Sunday!

Rose. Not pink, Rose.

Seriously, that's some hot pink / fuchsia on my monitor...

Looking forward to the return of Blue next week...
