yarn issues

Some notes on my day:

Still working on the knitting problem. I tried reknitting it, to make sure that I had counted correctly... I had. I tried remembering to add the stitch I took away. Still no dice. What happens is that I end up with mirror images, and I'm not sure why. Argh!!

For those interested in being TKs (test knitters) for this Beast, you'll need yarn and needles, and a stitch holder. I recommend using a comparably sized dpn for your stitch holder, since you may (or may not) have to pick up from the opposite side than a regular stitch holder would allow. For needles, I'm using 3mms I bought in France. This doesn't actually equate to a US size (it's approx. a US 2.5) so feel free to go up to a US3, or down to a US2. If you're going up to the 3, I'd recommend worsted, if you're going down, I'd go with a DK or sport. I'm using Simply Soft. The point is to use a medium yarn with the small needles to create a thick, strong fabric.
As for how much yarn... you'll need about enough. It's okay to have more than that, but I wouldn't recommend any less.

Also, it rained.

Do you think it would work to just bind off at the top of the split, and knit the top part, and attach them together? Is there a way to do that seamlessly?
