guitars...

So I'm chillin' tonight looking at guitars. I miss my baby so much, and this post is certainly not to degrade her, but I'll admit... I'm starting to look around.

See, here's the thing... I've discovered that I'm drawn to dark guitars. Now, I know that color doesn't make a difference, and you don't want to hear me go on and on about the pink and purple "ladies" guitars they've got out there. Just... no. If a chick wants to rock, give her a guitar, not a pinky purple plaything.
Anyhow. I like the darker woods: the cedars, the maples, a good spruce with a darker finish... mahogany is my favorite... and not the funky darker-on-the-outside finishes that lighten up in the middle of the top... that's just weird. And not the funky, striped things either. And while black ones are nice... I like wood. Just plain, dark, wood. (On second thought, the black ones are really nice... especially with a lighter colored binding, even better if they're cutaway. But still, wood better.)
With a nice, even, mellow tone... a smooth action... strings...

Okay, yes, I'm in guitar withdrawal.
I'm taking lessons next year and wondering if my baby will suffice, since she frequently doesn't like to stay tuned.
And right now, I'm saving up for a backpacker, not a full size, so it doesn't really matter. But one can dream of being rich and owning two guitars. Woulda sould my babe to Bär like planned, but she got a 7/8 size from her friends for her birthday, and one person doesn't need two "normal" guitars. Or at least, she doesn't. Or does she... hmm... ;)

Until the next,
