getting ready...

Yesterday was quite the interesting day. Even though I was (mostly) pain-free, and therefore didn't have to take any of the drugs the dentist gave me, I felt woozy-wierd all day.
I had a meeting with my pastor about post-college plans and candidacy and stuff. I think I've pretty much decided that I'm going to do a year off from school before I go to grad school. I'm not sure exactly what that will look like, but I've got some ideas. There's a lot of reasons. Mostly that I need to take  a break from book learning, and that I feel like I need a little more time before I settle in to life-life. Right now the big thing is to figure out how that works with candidacy. If I do a year somewhere far, far away (Washington state, or somewhere international, or whatnot), and it's the kind of thing that you can't just take time off from to go to candidacy meetings (which a lot of them are like), I need to figure out how to do the candidacy thing. With whichever school I go to, I can appy and then "defer" my admission (basically put it off for a year). But I don't know how that works with candidacy.
Oh, and for those of you who read this who aren't up-to-date on the candidacy process, check this link for details on the process.

Then I got home and went out with my uncle to guitar shops. The first place we went was a place that ended up being sort of a "mom and pop death metal" shop. Pretty cool actually. We went there 'cause they are the closest place that has Luna guitars. They only had one in stock, an acoustic that's pretty close to the one I want. I loved it. My uncle loved it. It had a wonderfully mellow sound, low action, and great playability. It continued to sound great when she plugged it in.
We went to a couple other shops, played about a bazillion guitars, but didn't find anything that was as great as the Luna. So the plan seems to be that I'll place an order when I get back from May term. Well, actually, I'll probably wait until I get back from summer classes/work.

My hat got here yesterday. It's awesome. It's meant to be a rain hat, but it's got all the sun features, so I don't see why it's not marketed as a rain/sun hat. This means that I have (just about) everything I need for my trip. Which is good, since I head back to Wartburg tomorrow, and Monday I leave for May Term.

My cheek bones on the left are sore today, and that tooth has decided that it doesn't like anything remotely chilly. But I don't think I'll need to take anything. Yay for the dentist not being right about how much it would hurt.

Alrighty, now I have a ton of work to do to finish up before I go to MAD tonight. I just wish I weren't so constantly tired!!
