Funeral and Birthday lunch

Two big things happened today.

First, I had my first solo funeral: homily, graveside and everything. It went really well. The homily was a good mix of personal and theology, the family was amazingly appreciative, and the funeral director gave me an A+ (he knew it was my first). We (ministers/supervisorly and I) say (and it's true) that it's not us, it's God and the Holy Spirit that do all the work, but it's nice to hear one did a good job at a new experience.

Second, Maternal Other and I played hooky in the afternoon and met at our favorite diner for lunch. Troublesome Other (of the Elephantae Others) came along as well. Lots of fun.
