It's been awhile since I've posted, and I had all sorts of good intentions to update at least every Thursday with weekly updates. Then my computer had to go in to the shop, my backup computer decided that enough moving was enough, and now we're in hurricane preparedness time.
So some bullet points as a method of recap:
- Farmers' Market: Wow. Went for the first time today. Bought amazing sourdough bread, apples and peaches, and a bottle of wine. (Then had to borrow a corkscrew from my supervisor.)
- Prison Ministry: Went with PS. Loved it. It's hard to describe why I loved it. PS teaches a class called For a Better You, which covers a variety of topics. Right now we're doing anger management. I think I like it because it's pure, real ministry. There's no politickying or dealing with finicky parishioners. It's a class, it's people, children of God... it's ministry. My only complaint was that it was really cold, but I'll wear a sweater next time. (Which, since I love sweaters, will make it no longer a complaint.)
- Today I made Hawaiian Chicken in the crockpot. So for dinner I had that (basically chicken + crushed pineapple + bbq sauce + heat) over rice. Then for snack I had dadmade strawberry jam on famers' market sourdough with a glass of wine.
- My 'puter is in the shop, but I was able to borrow a laptop from PS, which is how I'm now updating.
It has started raining (off and on all day, but I think on for real now), but we will for sure have church tomorrow. I don't know if anyone will show up, but I'll be here.
