Week 2: wait, what?

I'm finishing my second week already? Huh? Where did the time go? What did I do? Oh yeah... all the stuff crossed off my to-do list. Sweet.

In other news, last night I discovered a truly wonderful secret: it's not that hard to make the dinners I thought it was hard to make. I made Welsh pasties. They weren't the best, probably due to not enough time in the oven (not fully crispy) and off-brand cream-of soup. But it only took, like 10 minutes, plus 10 minutes in the oven. No one told me it was that easy! I'm now all about cooking for myself. Seriously. It was easier than making pasta, 'cause of the not waiting for the water to boil. (Hush, anyone who has an induction cooktop.)

Tonight, I made Old Bay hamburgers. Seriously. Why did no one tell me it was that easy to make food?

We conclude tonight's broadcast with a review of the local ice cream joint, the Purple Cow. I went last week, before the council meeting. I've been wanting to go again, but it's too hot. Yes, too hot for ice cream. Heat indexes over 100F means that ice cream melts before you get to fully enjoy its iciness. You just get... cream.
Anywho. I had the purple cow ice cream, which is black raspberry ice cream with fudge ripple and mini raspberry truffles. Not a completely unfamiliar flavor combination. And, as I expected, amazingly delicious and wonderful and yum. Very creamy, not too frozen solid, but also not too melty. I encourage you all to make a visit. (I hear that during garlic festival they have garlic flavored ice cream, but since the whole city smells and tastes of garlic, you can't really taste it in the ice cream by the time you get there, since you've been eating garlic all day. The previous intern, poor chap, apparently was allergic to garlic.)
