"I've made a lot of special modifications myself."

That's right, I'm casting on (or will be once I'm done telling you about it) a Millennium Falcon for my sister. Apparently I'm knitting her a whole fleet of starships. She's got a Firefly-class, now it's time to jump universii and knit this. Unfortunately, there are no patterns for such a project, so I'm making it up myself. I've done the research, marked the plans, and have done preliminary pattern writing. Today I acquired the yarn (thanks, mom!), and, as soon as I figure out what size needles to use, we'll be good to go.

I'm really looking forward to seeing pictures of the Falcon when you're finished with it.

And speaking of birds (of a sort), my little bluebird really enjoyed the train-ride back to Kansas, under Owl's protective wing.
