library time

I went to the library today. I had been there before, but only in passing, to show people around, to use the copier, etc. This time was to check out books. This time was for real.

And I fell in love.

Unlike the library at my undergrad institution, it was silent. Not just hush-hush quiet. Silent.

I found me a little spot with a desk and a chair, right next to (of course) the music section. I had a list of the books I wanted to check out before checking out, and had to use the paper guide to the library to find everything. (We're a Library of Congress system library, not a Dewey system library.) It was great.

A note about the music books. They're almost all at least somewhat church music focused. Because we're a seminary. There's my Beethoven and Buxtehude and JS Bach. There's "A History of Church Music" right next to "Kirchenmusic" and it goes on and on.

Did I mention it was quiet there?
