So. Housing sign-up was tonight. Talk about your stressful situations. I had no back-up plan. If I didn't get a single, I was out of a plan. But I did. I was actually fairly close up in line, even though my lotto number was 675. I got a single in Founders. I probably could have gone for Grossman/Löhe or the Res, but since singles are so small and you can't loft in G/L/R, and Founders really is one of the nicer dorms, I just went for it. I have a corner room on the north side of the 3rd floor. I wish it were south side, but it'll be alright. (Note: Founders 3 North is where I lived last year.) I could have gotten a south side, but in the heat-of-the-moment decision I went for the corner room. More sunlight, since I get two windows.
All I need now is a loft.
And to figure out if I'm going to have a car at all next year. Because parking registration has already started, and I do NOT want to get stuck walking all the way to D-Lot my senior year. I don't want N-Lot, but V or C would be wonderful. Of course, it's wishful thinking (that I'll have a car), but a girl's gotta have dreams, right?
In other news... I need mom to get back from where she is. Now. (Mom, if you're reading this, it's okay, take your time, don't worry about me, I'm fine.) But seriously. I need herto come back so I can call herand she can fix all my problems. Like the internship thing.
Sineshko's blooming. Such a darling. I'll post pictures, don't worry.
Week and a half until finals. AAaahhhh!!!!
Not that finals are scary. It's the papers leading up to finals that are scary.
And keeping me up late.
And one final note.
Prologue: For those of you not on campus, or on campus but under a rock, the caf is doing "trayless dining" for Earth week. They think it'll cut down on waste.
GET OVER IT! It's a change. It's different. It's tough on those who don't have much time to eat. I get that. But still. GET OVER IT!!! Writting a hundred comment cards isn't going to change this one week. Do you have this much anger when you go to a buffet and they don't have trays? When you use a plate and need more food, take your plate up, put it on the rack, and get a new one.
Even if Wartburg shut down, it wouldn't "impact" the world's waste. But we're doing our part and you're just complaining. If you read the information today, in the first day of trayless dining, we cut our waste just about in half. I, for one, have actually been cleaning my plate more frequently since traylessness. Now, there are the times when I dig in and something is just yuck, or I don't finish, or want something else, and I take my plate up and get a new one.
I like it. I like feeling like I'm eating a meal with my friends because we're all eating on actual table. I like setting down my food and going back for my drink 'cause then I can get more to drink. I like taking smaller portions so I can fit a small bowl on my plate.
And yes, it's a problem when the plates that are set out are fresh from the dishwasher and impossible to carry. That's why I watch the people getting plates ahead of me. But to say that the trayless dining is causing back-ups with getting food... no. There have always been back-ups when the caf is busy. That's how it is. If you can't wait three more minutes for your food, then grab an apple while you wait for the line to go down.
Also, consider this. How many of you, when getting your make-your-own-pizza once it's been cooked, need a tray to put your plate on when you get the pizza?
Rant over. Resume normal blogging.

I'll call Saturday afternoon, for sure Sunday as usual. Can't wait to hear your voice. I bought cocoa and "eggs" today, so I'm ready to come home. (Cesar is a darling.)
