Wow. I just got done hearing a recital of JS Bach's The Art of the Fugue. (Wikipedia article here.) Wow. Kind of like a fugue overdose. Only way better. Wow. Two hours. TWO! That's like... more than one and less than three! Like if you had me as an hour, and Bär as an hour and put us together. Wow.
Just say no to fugues, kids. Once you're hooked, it's like dihydrogen monoxide addiction. Ain't no way to break it. (Wikipedia dihydrogen monoxide article here.)
I gave the devo in band today. Check out Musings for the text, as best as I can remember it.
I went to a Halloween Party at my voice professor's house last night. (Pictures will be coming soon!) The food was Harry Potter based, so we had (homemade) chocolate frogs, pumpkin pasties, goblin toes, and other such yums. AND BRACH'S CANDY CORN!!! It was at Hy-Vee all along!! We played DDR and sang opera karaoke and little K (the 4 year old) read Cat in the Hat to me. That's a long book. And boy, do little kids squirm a lot when they sit on your lap. But he's a good reader!
There's a huge common area with comfy chairs and tables and such between Grossmann and Löhe Halls called Cardinal Commons. There is an area outside the religion offices that has comfy chairs and no name.
I am hereby having my first ever blog contest. I haven't decided what the prize will be, but it'll be good, I promise. The contest? To come up with a name for the area outside the religion offices. Deadline… uh… The weekend before Thanksgiving.
Last entry's panda joke of the day was:
Why was the little cub so spoiled?
The answer:
Because his mother panda'd to his every whim.
Today's panda joke of the day:
Why do pandas have fur coats?
1 comment:
"Why do pandas have fur coats?"
~Because they have no wool with which to knit a cardigan/sweater/other warm woolen garment.
