college life

So far today has been a pretty typical college Saturday. Or at least, it feels like it has been.

Got up, went to Wal-mart with J. Bought new pants (yay!!!), candy pumpkins (see story below), yarn (legitimate!), and a shirt for my recital!

We were trying to find real candy corn. They had the fake stuff, the off brand stuff, and they had Brach's Indian Corn (the chocolate candy corn) and pumpkins, but no real, Brach's candy corn. It was very disappointing. So we just got the pumpkins. Which are good, but not as good as the corn.

The yarn is for practicing gloves for Becca. The shirt for my recital is awesome shiny black shiny shiny, and uhm, well... "well-fitted."

Then we came back, had lunch in the caf with some people, and then J and I practiced for over an hour. J is an amazing practicing coach. I've learned all the music I need for tomorrow, AND I have read all the way through my Franck, and, if I do say so myself, it's starting to sound pretty heroic!

After practicing, J and I did dishes! (Oh, also at Walmart I bought new silverware since I managed to lose most of mine.) Then some TV, a nap, and here I am.

That's not much of an update on my life, and in fact it sounds pretty "boring blog"-y to me. But I promise I'll be more interesting later.

I'll make it up to you. As soon as I post this, I'm going to go over to Musings and post my prose piece about cheating on my pillow with my backpack. A good prose piece will cheer you up from this being a "boring blog" post, right? And tomorrow I'll be full of witty, theological ramblings.
