Buttermilk Falls

So here I am, on top of the world. Or at least doing one of the coolest things I’ve ever done. I’m sitting on top of a rock, by a waterfall, typing this entry, to be posted later today.

I’m also eating trail mix that I mixed myself. Mmmmnnnummy…. Nothing quite like M&Ms, peanuts, and dried fruit to make one no longer quite so hungry. Especially if one hasn’t yet had breakfast. Mmmmnnnnummy…

I have the coolest new laptop case. It’s woven awesomeness.

And I just measured one of my papers that I need to finish and it’s in the exact middle of the required page length. Sweet!

Dad and I will head back to Maryland tomorrow. And then I have less than two weeks before I leave for Iowa. Ahhh!! My facebook status is that I am “getting ready to start thinking about maybe packing at some point.” I think I need to step up the process, don’t you?

For all those interested, I’m moving in on the 27th, so if you are on campus, or in Waverly, and I would like to either help me move in, or come by after I’ve moved in to hang out, let me know. I can also help people move in after that, excepting that I have priorities to help my own suities whenever they arrive on campus. Oh, and massive practicing duties. Oops.

Also, I’m thinking of having a skydiving DVD viewing party at some point, maybe the night before classes begin. It won’t last long, the DVD’s only about 7 minutes long, but there could be hanging and chatting and so on.

People keep staring at me like I’ve got an extra head. I think it might be the strange object on my lap that I am typing into.

Oh, and if anyone who has a car is going to be moving/moved in early, and is willing to either lend it to me, or drive me down to Waterloo once or twice that week, I would pay back for gas and eternally grateful. Julie’s going to let me use hers during the semester, but she’s not moving in until the 1st/2nd, and I’m hoping to have at least one if not two appointments under my belt before the semester begins.

How do you tell people that you don’t think they should be doing something, without sounding like a jerk or a stick-in-the-mud? I’ve already tried pointing out that we probably won’t be able to do it, and they have all been like, “oh, but we can find away around the rules that apply to everyone else, because we’re favored.” I don’t care. There are rules for a reason and if I’m the only one going to be sticking up for them, you should at least listen to what I have to say. I don’t want to offend anyone or make anyone mad at me, but I also have my beliefs and my opinions and it’s my campus, dammit, not theirs!

On another note, Bill has said, several times now, that the ball is in his court for coming down to Wartburg and he plans to do it THIS semester! I’m hoping that he might come to my organ recital, so I need to figure out soon when that will be, but even if not, I’m hoping that we (PR and I) can get him on the chapel schedule and that he comes on a day when I’m not swamped with classes and lessons.

Okay, I’m out of trail mix, and I’m getting hungry. Time to round up the family and get some lunch!

Until the next,
